WHYNOT? HEURISTIC EVALUATION
The website is generally easy to learn and use. Other than a few problems, it seems pretty good.
- The system status is quite visible to the user. I did not have a hard time knowing at which step I was.
- The menu was a bit confusing at first because you have the review option as the first item even though other websites usually would have it at the end. It wasn’t externally consistent
- I expected the “WhyNot?” button on the menu to take me somewhere because my cursor turned into a button cursor when I hovered over it.
- The page design makes it easy to use and get around. There are not much unnecessary information given to the user. Good minimalist design.
- It forces the user to submit a reflection if you have completed a challenge. There is not a cancel button that lets you go back.
- There is not an option to choose another challenge if you are not satisfied with the current one.
- There is a back button in the “View Reflections” page. It is easier to go back for the user than to choose a new option from the menu.
- The back button is only in the “View Reflections” page. It is easier to go back for the user than to choose a new option from the menu. Also the button’s design and color doesn’t match the website’s design.
- There are not any documentation that would help if a user had a problem with any of the features or how to use them.
- Task hierarchy is flat so it doesn’t take a lot of steps to complete a task.
